Abstract This paper introduces the Bayesian mass average and details its computation. Owing to complexity of flow in an engine limited instrumentation precision sensor apparatus used, it is difficult rigorously calculate averages. Building upon related work, this views any thermodynamic quantity’s spatial variation at axial plane (or a rig) as Gaussian random field. In cases where flowrate constant circumferential direction but can be expressed via polynomial or spline radially, presents analytical calculation average. itself field, sampling procedure presented Examples for temperature are presented, including with real case study velocity profiles inferred from stagnation pressure measurements.
